On June 8, World Ocean Day, the latest volume of the Canadian Journal of Environmental Education (CJEE), a special issue on ocean literacy, was published. Exploring Relationships and Empowering Action: An Ocean Literacy Reader is the first ocean literacy reader ever produced in Canada and is a collaboration between CJEE, COLC, and the Institute for Environmental Learning at Simon Fraser University (SFU).
Diz Glithero (COLC) and David Zandvliet (SFU) had the pleasure of serving as the guest editors of this special issue. This peer-reviewed publication includes diverse regional and cultural voices of community members, academics, professionals and practitioners, from coast to coast to coast. Collectively, this issue includes 5 languages: French, Inuktitut, Haida, Squamish, and English.
