Co-examining Collaborative Models to Advance Ocean Literacy Impact

A strategic workshop on building sustainable, high-impact OL collaboratives.

How can collaborative models effectively bring together ideas, shared capacity, resources, and co-generated funding to drive measurable impact?

Date: June 7, 2025
Time: 12:00–14:00 PM
Location: Beyond Borders: Future Ocean Pavilion, Green Zone
Hosted by: EU4Ocean & Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition

There is growing recognition that advancing ocean sustainability requires ocean literacy and intentional, cross-sector collaboration. This event explores how inclusive, transparent, and results-driven collaborative models—communities of practice, coalitions, networks—can support the goals of UNOC, SDG14, and the Ocean Decade. These models can help to bring together shared capacity, resources, and co-generated funding, while building trust and working across scales to align actionable objectives. The session will convene diverse professionals who are leading successful models to collate successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Insights will be shared in a virtual roundtable following UNOC3, after which a guiding output(s) will be generated.

COLC’s Executive Director, Diz Glithero, and Research Manager, Jen McRuer, will be co-hosting and participating in this collaborative workshop.
