Respective country leads will share insights on the transformative nature of the development process, objectives, implementation, and impact of these strategies to date. The discussion will emphasize the critical importance of multi-sector strategies to engage all sectors and generations of society to better understand and value the vital role of the ocean, and galvanize engagement in collaborative and tangible actions toward ocean sustainability. The importance of evidence-based insights and approaches to impact measurement will also be highlighted. These landmark efforts aim to spark momentum and guide national ocean literacy strategies worldwide.
COLC’s Executive Director, Diz Glithero will be presenting the work and impact of the Canadian Ocean Literacy Strategy over the last four years, providing leadership and insights for other countries working on developing their own Strategies.
