Contribute to the Canadian Ocean Literacy Strategy 2.0

In March 2021, the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition (COLC) published the first Canadian Ocean Literacy Strategy to unite fragmented efforts, build a culture of collaboration, and establish a framework for action across regions, sectors, and scales. Now, more than three years into implementing the strategy, it’s time to revisit, reflect, and refine the Strategy to further strengthen our collective efforts to advance ocean literacy in Canada.

Join us for a public webinar examining:

  • What has been achieved: reflecting and celebrating the progress and impact to date
  • What has been learned: discussing the challenges, gaps, and opportunities for growth moving forward
  • What does success look like in 2030: co-identifying the goals and priorities for the National Strategy 2.0

How to prepare:

– Review the initial Canadian Ocean Literacy Strategy

– Reflect on your experiences (personally, organizationally, and/or collectively) and consider the following questions:

  • What approaches or initiatives are working well in terms of ocean knowledge sharing, ocean engagement and connection-making, and ocean action?
  • What are the challenges? How do we better close the knowledge-action gap?
  • What positive change are you most wanting to see when it comes to people in Canada and the ocean?

We hope you will join us. Reserve your spot today!
